Beach Music
There is something exotic and magical about a beach wedding. The sound of the surf lapping nearby, the sunset over the horizon and even the sand underfoot all lend a relaxed and romantic atmosphere to the event. Somehow, the combination of a bohemian setting, a tropical flair and the presence of nature goes perfectly with the seeking God's blessing on the union. While we know God will bless a union in a church too, somehow being in one of the most beautiful settings in God's creation makes the wedding special.
Planning the music that will be just the right thing for a wedding on the beach is an important part of the wedding that will contribute a lot to the success of the event. One factor that might shape your decision is the availability of amplification and electricity. If you are going to have a PA system at your disposal, then you have all of the options of an indoor wedding. In fact, where you stage the wedding may be determined by whether or not you are willing to "rough it" and not have amplification at your disposal. The size of the wedding the extent to which even the vows and the words of the minister can be heard are just as important as the music so think about these issues before selecting the wedding location on the beach.
Even if you can provide microphones and a PA system, using the talents of live musicians, particularly someone who plays the guitar well adds to the "natural" feel of the wedding. It is possible that there are one or more skilled guitarists in your family or among the community who will be coming to the wedding. But keep in mind that you want to be able to select the musical selections with some liberty so you don't want to give the job to a guitarist that can only play Stairway to Heaven and Happy Birthday.
The elements are also a wildcard that may call for some conservative planning so the wrong weather conditions don't rob you of the right music to set the mood for the wedding. Beaches are notoriously breezy and even if the wind doesn't disturb the dresses and the mood of the wedding, it could carry the sound of the music the wrong direction so your perfectly chosen music wafts out to sea instead of giving joy to the wedding party and the guests.
Choices of music for a beach wedding open up a lot of fun alternatives. From Beach Boys classics to tropical or calypso arrangements of wedding standards, the atmosphere of the beach and put a magical spin on everything from wedding gowns to the music to even the way you write your vows. Why you may be able to enjoy a rare treat for a wedding party of going through the entire event barefoot. That is just one of the many ways your wedding in the scenic setting of the beach will be memorable for life.
