Beach House
If you cannot seem to get enough of going to the beach for vacation or even for longer stays, its natural that you might be thinking about building a house on the beach to make this setting a permanent vacation spot for you. And when you start to think about a perfect second home or retirement location, what could be better than to be able to live on the beach for weeks or months or permanently?
But to see that dream become a reality, some planning is in order. Not only do you have to scout the perfect location but, if you are going to build your beach bungalow from the ground up, you will want to get some ideas on how to lay the house out so it is a great long term home for you. Two big issues come into play in what will drive your decisions about that plan. Probably the top priority is to build a house that will endure in what is clearly a tricky location to build. And the second consideration is the layout of the house so it fits your lifestyle and entertainment needs as well.
The beach is a delightful location for a vacation. When the sun is shining high, the waves are gentle and then breeze is gently wooing you, there may be no closer location to paradise on this earth. But weather has a way of not always being perfect. The presence of the ocean just yards from your home may pose a threat from time to time as well. So you should develop some plans on how to build your paradise home so it will hold up under strong winds and the blowing sand that Mother Nature can throw at a beach home.
This is a good argument for engaging an architect and a construction firm that knows how to build homes in the locale of your new beach get-away. They will have experience with the local weather extremes and they will be able to give you advice on how to lay the foundation and construct the frame of the home so the structure is well designed for the worst that might come as well as the best. There will be some extra expense to building a home with adverse weather in mind. But you will be glad you did when a harsh tropical storm blows through and your home comes through it in good shape.
You can get lots of ideas for the lay out of your future home on the beach by just leasing different beach bungalows in various locales both in the same location of your future beach retreat and in other tropical settings. Keep some notes of things you like and layouts that fit your dream life in such a perfect environment so you can guide your architect when he starts designing your new house. You will know it when he finds the perfect design and be thrilled with the home that is built to become your paradise home for many years to come.
